Robert V. Puhek was inducted into the Army on April 28, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.

He served as a Technician 5th Grade and truck driver with Company C of the 133rd Infantry Regiment in Tunisia, North Africa, and Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, and North Apennines, Italy. He was wounded in action on June 27, 1944, in Italy.

Mr. Puhek was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal Purple Heart Presidential Unit Citation Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four bronze battle stars, and the World War II Victory Medal five overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged on June 10, 1945, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.
