Robert Stacy Hill was born on October 23rd 1917 to Earl Stacy & Edna Margaretha [Ryan] Hill in Hibbing, Minnesota.
Mr. Hill entered the U.S. Army Air Corps on July 12th 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.
He served as a airplane electric propeller mechanic in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, the Air Offensive Europe, and Central Europe Campaign. He rose to the rank of Tech Sergeant. (TSGT)
SGT Hill earned the following merits for his service:
- Presidential Unit Citation,
- Good Conduct Medal,
- European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 6 bronze battles stars, -and-
- World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged from 326th Army Air Forces Base Unit October 18th 1945 at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. Florida.
Mr. Hill died on January 16th 1987 at 69 years of age. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
