Robert Lyckholm

Robert was born in March of 1920 to Lewis Lyckholm and his wife Signe Helene Johansson, both Swedish emigrants. He joined the US Army and was Pfc in Co. C,323 Infantry out of San Francisco, California in June of 1944. He was in Camp Rucker, Alabama for training in February of 1943. He served in the battles on Peleliu Island in the South Pacific where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the 81st infantry at that time known as "Wildcats". He returned to Minnesota and was a master bricklayer/mason as was his father and grandfather.
