Robert John Pehl was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on October 22nd 1924, the son of John A. & Anna Matilda [Adolphson] Pehl. He attended Denfeld High School in Duluth
Mr. Pehl entered the Army Air Corps on June 5th 1943 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. PVT Pehl served two years during World War II in the European Theater.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a paratrooper. He participated in the invasion of southern France.
After the war he returned home and married Elizabeth "Bette" Jane [Martin] and they started a family. He stayed active in Veterans activities as a member of the VFW #137 and the West Duluth American Legion.
Mr. Pehl died at age 83 in Duluth, Minnesota, on February 20nd 2008. He is buried at Oneota Cemetery in Duluth, Minnesota.
