Robert J. Melde of Duluth, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on June, 5, 1943.

He was a Technician 5th Grade with Battery C in the 475th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, Automatic Weapons, in the Pacific Theater.

Mr. Melde received the: Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars.

He was discharged on February 20, 1946.
