Robert H. Groebner enlisted in the Army Air Corps on Oct. 23, 1942.
He served as a Saff Sergeant and an aerial gunnery instructor in the 8th Air Force in air offensive Europe.
He was awarded the Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with three bronze stars for Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Southern France, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged Sept. 24, 1945 at Jefferson Barracks, Mo.
