Robert George Mortinsen entered the Navy on August 12, 1942. Home at entry: Proctor, Minnesota.

He was an Electrician's mate 2nd Class on the USS Miantonomah in the European Theater.

He was one of three survivors after thw Miantonomah blew up in the English Channel.

Mr. Mortinsen received the Purple Heart and the Combat Action Ribbon.

He was separated on March 25, 1945.
