Robert "Bob" Frank Teasck was born in Virginia, Minnesota on March 12th 1925 to Frank and Anna (Dahl) Teasck.
After finishing high school, he enlisted in the Army in March 1943 for seven years. Home at entry: Virginia, Minnesota.
Mr. Teasck served as a Corporal and machine gunner in Rifle Company G of the 414th Infantry Regiment of the 104th Infantry Division "Timberwolves" Night Fighters in France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany.
CPL Teasck was one of the first troops to land in Cherbourg taking the train to Northern France. He saw combat with the First Canadian Army in Belgium and Holland. Assigned to the American First Army outside of Aachen, he fought through the industrial area and into Cologne. They held northern blocking positions during the Battle of the Bulge. Crossing the Rhine at Remagen, his regiment mounted on Third Armored Division tanks, living off the country. They linked up at Patterborn and drove to the outskirts of Leipzig, liberating a slave labor camp at Nordhausen. They were assigned to the pending invasion of Japan when the war ended.
Mr. Teask was discharged in January 1946. He stayed active with the G-company through many reunions and became the editor of their newsletter in 1990. He continued his service to his country, by serving with the Minnesota National Guard for 25 years, retiring as a command sergeant major.
After his service Mr. Teasck was also a member of the Crellin-Tini VFW Post No. 1113 of Virginia, the Pratt-Volden-Mickelson-Anderson American Legion Post No. 239 of Virginia, and was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Kolstad Chapter No. 23.
He died on July 29th 2012 at the age of 87 years old.
