Robert E. Gilbert of Virginia, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army on March 27 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Technician 4th Grade in the Signal Corps and a teletype operator with the 96th Fighter Control in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Gilbert was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal and three overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on November 7, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
