Robert E. Frank was inducted into the Army July 20, 1944, Fort Snelling, Minn. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minn.
He served as a Staff Sergeant and infantry squad leader with Company A of the 17th Armored Infantry Battalion of the 12th Armored Division in Rhineland and Central Europe.
He was wounded in action in the European Theater on March 20, 1945.
Mr. Frank He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and two overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged April 9, 1946, Camp McCoy, Wis.
