Richard Leroy Van Dyke was born on December 26th 1918 to Raymond M. & Josie E. [Williamson] Van Dyke in Rush City, Minnesota. By 1930 the Van Dykes had moved to West Duluth, Minnesota area.
Before enlisting for service, Mr. Van Dyke married Miriam Eileen [Graham] and started a family. They moved out to Pasadena from which Richard entered service on July 20th 1944 at Los Angeles, California.
PVT Van Dyke served in the Army during WWII. He was discharged on January 10th 1946.
Mr. Van Dyke died on January 20th 1993 in Yuba, California.
