After about ten years in Service Battery of the 125th Field Artillery National Guard, Ario was inducted into active duty.
He served at Camp Claiborne, LA, from Feb. 10, 1940 to Nov. 6, 1941. He was recalled to active duty on June 23, 1942 reporting to Ft. Snelling, Minnesota, for processing and assignment. He was assigned to Cannon Co. of the 147th Infantry serving in the South Pacific. He took part in several island invasions and battles until separated from the 147th at Camp McCoy, WI, on Dec. 6, 1945.
Ario passed away in 1992.
