"After graduation in 1946, I enlisted in the regular navy for 2 years which helped me later to earn a Bachelor of Science on teaching. My boot camp, radio operator school and 14 months of sea duty on the USS General J. C. Breckenridge in the Pacific and the navy chaplain, thankfully, helped me be on my brother's ship. What a blessing for us! All these experiences helped me to mature into a productive, positive citizen, husband, father and grandfather and teacher coach and school counselor. I will alway be grateful to God and the navy helping as brothers to be lifelong friends!."
