Reino W. Ekroos of Markham, Minn. was inducted into the Army on June 28, 1941 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Corporal and reconnaissance car crewman with Company A of the 10th Tank Battalion in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe.
He was wounded in action on Aug. 26, 1944.
Mr. Ekroos was awarded the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal, American Defense Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal and four overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on Oct. 17,1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
