Raymond H. McCabe of Virginia, Minnesota enlisted in the Army on Jan. 30, 1942.
He was a First Sergeant with Headquarters Battery, 42nd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion, 7th Army in the Rhineland, southern France and Central Europe, serving in Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia in North Africa and Sicily and Rome-Arno in Italy.
Mr. McCabe received the: Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with one silver battle star (denotes five campaigns), two bronze battle stars (denotes a sixth and seventh campaign) and a bronze arrowhead device, World War II Victory Medal and five overseas service bars.
He was discharged on Oct. 19, 1945.
