Raymond M. Martinson served in World War II.
He served in the U.S. Navy starting on July 26, 1943. He attended boot camp at the U.S. Naval Training Center in Farragut, Idaho, and had advanced training at Camp Peary, Virginia. He had a number of Construction Brigades (Seabees) assignments: the 10th Construction Battalion, in Hawaii; the 3rd Construction Battalion, in Samar, the Philippines; and the 3rd Construction Brigade, in Manila, the Philippines. He was then transferred to Port Hueneme, California.
Mr. Martinson was discharged on May 6, 1946.
His rank was Storekeeper 2nd Class.
He was born in 1925 in Eveleth, Minnesota, the son of Erik and Minnie Martinson. He graduated from high school in 1943.
