Raymond F. Kujala

Raymond F. Kujala was inducted into the Army on September 6, 1944, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.

He served as a Staff Sergeant and platoon guide with Company C of the 17th Infantry Regiment in the Ryukyu Islands, Pacific Theater. He was wounded in action on June 17,1945, in Okinawa.

Mr. Kujala was awarded the: Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one bronze battle star, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Japan) and two overseas service bars.

He was honorably discharged on July 29, 1946, at Fort Sheridan, Illinois.
