Raymond Drift of Nett Lake, Minn. was inducted into the Army on Jan. 17, 1944 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Technician 5th Grade, carpenter and rifleman with Company A of the 1636th Engineer Construction Battalion, Corps of Engineers in Central Europe and the Pacific Theater.
Mr. Drift was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, World War II Victory Medal and one overseas service bar.
He was honorably discharged on Jan. 9, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
