Raymond DeWayne Sanders

Raymond DeWayne Sanders was inducted into the Army on November 20, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Meadowlands, Minnesota.

He served as a Private First Class and auto mechanic with Headquarters Company of the Second Battalion of the 124th Infantry Regiment in New Guinea and Southern Philippines.

He was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, three overseas service bars, and Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze star.

Mr. Sanders was honorably discharged on December 23, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
