DOMENICHETTI, Raymond Anthony

Raymond Anthony Domenichetti was born on February 15th to Adamo & Elisa [Legi] in Hibbing, Minnesota. Before the outbreak of war he marrried Mildred "Mikkie" Mary [Stanich].

Mr. Domenichetti enlisted for military service on July 21st 1942. He was inducted into the U.S. Army August 3rd 1942 at Fort Snelling, in Minneapolis, Minnesota during WWII. 

He served as a radar repairman with the 3909th Signal Base Depot Company in New Guinea. He rose to the rank of Technical Sergeant (TSGT). 

SGT Domenichetti earned the following merits for his service:

  • Good Conduct Medal, 
  • Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 1 bronze battle star,
  • American Campaign Medal,
  • Philippine Liberation Medal,
  • World War II Victory Medal,  -and-
  • four overseas service bars.

 

He was honorably discharged December 6th 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. After the war he returned home to his wife "Mikkie" and they started a family.

Mr. Domenichetti died on April 12 1988 at 68 years of age in Pharr, Texas. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, Minnesota.
