FERGUSON, Raymond William "Fergie"

Raymond Wlliam Ferguson was born on September 15th 1920 to Albert F. & Beatrice K. [Kjelberg] Ferguson in Cook, Minnesota.

Mr. Ferguson enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII and served for three years. He served for 11 months overseas in the European Theater as a member of the 104th Division. He rose to the rank of Private First Class (PFC).

PFC Ferguson earned the following merits for his service:

  • Theater Victory ribbon,
  • three battle stars on his ETO ribbon,  -and-
  • the Good Conduct Medal, and a Presidential Unit Citation.

 

He was honorably discharged at Camp San Luis Obispo, California.

Mr. Ferguson died on May 14th 2000 at the age of 79 years. He was cremated and his ashes were spread across Alaska.
