Ralph Edward Deger of Hibbing, Minnesota entered the Army in October 1942.
He was a corporal with the 64th Medical Regiment and 64th Topographical Engineers, involved in maintenance of photocopying equipment in Hawaii, Guam and Japan.
He was the only Army member of Navy-Marine Corps boxing team on Guam, where he had a record of 23 wins and two losses by decision.
He was separated in February 1946.
