SENICH, Peter Paul
Peter Paul Senich was born on June 26th 1913 to Anton & Mary [Bolf] Cencich in Carson Lake, Minnesota.
Mr. Senich was inducted into the U.S. Army on October 14th 1942 at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis, Minnesota during WWII. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.
He served as a cannoneer with Battery B of the 456th Antiaircraft Artillery Battalion in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe. He rose to the rank of Private First Class (PFC).
PFC Senich earned the following merits for his service:
- Good Conduct Medal,
- European-African- Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 5 bronze battle stars,
- World War II Victory Medal, -and-
- four overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on October 30th 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
Mr. Senich died on December 18th 1979 in Hibbing. He is buried at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
