Paul T. Hanten was inducted into the Navy on June 11, 1943 serving in the Pacific Theater, in the Aleutian Islands and in the United States.
He was assigned to the 47th Construction Brigade Battalion where his first assignment was Supply Worker working toward Storekeeper 3rd Class.
He was stationed on Adak, the Aleutian Islands and later transferred to Camp Endicott, Rhode Island where he was assigned to Station Force and to Welfare/Recreation.
From August until December, 1945 he was assigned to the Philippines again as part of Welfare/Recreation service.
He was discharged on December 28, 1945. His rank was Seaman 1st Class.
Mr. Hanten was born in 1924 in Duluth, Minnesota, the son of Paul M. and Katharine Hanten. He graduated from high school in 1942 in Virginia, Minnesota.
