Mr. Tramontin served as a Staff Sergeant, armorer, and waist gunner in B-17 Flying Fortress bombers with the 489th Bomb Group (H) in Sicily, Normandy, Northern France, Ploesti raid, and the Air Offensive in Western Europe.
He was awarded the following: Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Presidential Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze battle stars, and World War II Victory Medal.
Mr. Tramontin was honorably discharged on October 6, 1945, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
