LAZORSHAK, Paul Alex
Paul Alex Lazorshak was born on July 12 1917 to Alex & Anatasia [Barna] Lazorshak in Chisholm, Minnesota.
Mr. Lazorshak was inducted into the U.S. Army Air Corps on March 10th 1942, at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Home at entry: Chisholm.
He served as a radio operator, and turret gunner with the 281st Bomb Squadron of the 310th Bombardment Group in Sicily, Naples-Foggia, and Rome-Arno, Italy. He was wounded in action on April 15th 1944 in Italy. He rose to the rank of Private First Class (PFC).
PFC Lazorshak earned the following merits for his service:
- Air Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster,
- Purple Heart, -and-
- European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 bronze battle stars.
He received a disability discharge on September 11th 1945, at the Worthington General Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Mr. Lazorshak died on March 5th 1970 at 5 years of age in Chisholm.
