Oscar W. Nyberg of Soudan, Minnesota was inducted into the Army Air Corps on April 8, 1942.
He was a Corporal and a munitions workers, serving in Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Libya and Tunisia in the North Africa campaign and in Sicily, Rome-Arno, Naples-Foggia and the North Apennines in the Italian campaign. He also served in air combat in the Balkans and southern France.
Mr. Nyberg received the: Croix de Guerre with Palm (France), Distinguished Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with nine bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and four overseas service bars.
He was discharged on September 3, 1945.
