Mr. Balki inducted into the Army on May 30, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Cook, Minnesota.
He served as a Private First Class with Headquarters Battery of the 805th Field Artillery Battalion in the European Theater. Served in Tunisia, Sicily, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, Southern France, Rhineland and Central Europe.
He received the following: Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal with seven battle stars, World War II Victory Medal and five overseas service bars.
Mr. Balki was honorably discharged on October 11, 1945, at Camp Grant, Illinois.
