Orville J. Hicks

Orville J. Hicks served during World War II in the European Theater in the U.S. Army Air Forces from March 31, 1943, until November 17, 1945.

He was assigned to the 8th Air Force, 2nd Air Division, 389th Bomb Group, 564th Squadron, Hethel, England. His rank was Staff Sergeant.

Mr. Hicks was awarded the Air Medal with one oak leaf cluster, American Campaign Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with three bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and the Sharpshooter Carbine Badge.

He was born on January 18, 192_, in Pepin, Wisconsin, the son of Clyde and Alcie Hicks.
