Ormond Albert Seavey entered the Navy in 1942.
He served as a Commission Lieutenant and as a gunnery officer with the Navy Armed Guard aboard the SS William B. Wilson and commanding officer aboard the USS Silica.
He shared the following: "Convoys in North Atlantic 1942-1945, sailed around the world on the Wilson. While I was captain of the Silica, the ship was sunk in the typhoon of September 10, 1945, with NO loss of life."
He served in the Atlantic, Pacific, Ulithi Island, Philippines, and Okinawa.
Relieved from active duty in 1946.
