Orlando P. Gigliotti entered the Army Air Force on November 13, 1942, at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Corporal, auto mechanic, and driver with the 364th Fighter Group in England and Germany.
Attended basic training at Miami Beach, Florida, and spent Christmas on the beach listening to 'White Christmas' on the radio. Also attended armament school at Lowery Field, Colorado.
Attached with the 364th Fighter Group at Santa Maria, California, and then to England. At the end of the war, served with the HQ Company 417th Signal Battalion during the occupation of Germany.
Mr. Gigliotti was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, Drivers Badge, and three overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on November 13, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisc.
