Omer M. Ettinger was inducted into the Army on Aug. 21, 1941 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Sergeant and construction foreman with the 814th Aviation Engineer Battalion in England. He participated in the invasions of North Africa at Oran, Algeria; and Sicily, Italy. He was responsible for building and maintaining airfields.
He was honorably discharged Sept. 16, 1945 at Camp Swift, Tex.
