Oiva Laitinen

Oiva Laitinen enlisted in the Army on May 6, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.

He was a Private First Class, a truck driver and a quartermaster in New Guinea and Leyte in the Pacific Theater.

Mr. Laitinen received the: Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars, American Campaign Medal World and War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged on November 3, 1945 at Brigham City, Utah.
