Norman Sherman

Norman Sherman was inducted into the Army on June 19, 1941, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

He served as a Staff Sergeant and artillery mechanic with the 706th Ordnance Company of the Light Maintenance of the Sixth Infantry Division in New Guinea and Luzon.

He was awarded the following: Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, four overseas service bars, Bronze Arrowhead, and Philippine Liberation Medal with one bronze star.

He was honorably discharged on November 16, 1945, Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
