Norman S. MacLeod entered into the Army on March 3, 1943. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.
He was commissioned Captain and served as an engineering aviation unit commander 1337 with the 1881 EAB in New Guinea, Bismark-Archipelago, Southern Philippines, and Luzon. He was wounded in action on April 22, 1944, in the Pacific Theater.
Mr. MacLeod was awarded the following: Purple Heart, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with four bronze battle stars and bronze arrowhead, World War II Victory Medal, and Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars.
He was honorably discharged on March 1, 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wis.
