Norman E. Johnson was born in Tower and graduated from Eveleth High School in 1945.
He joined the Army and served as a member of the field artillery with the Sixth Division from July 1945 until January 1947. He was a Sergeant and served in Korea as a member of the Army of Occupation.
After the war he attended Eveleth Junior College and the University of Minnesota graduating as a civil engineer.
He later worked for the Duluth Missabe & Iron Range Railway for 12 years and for Minnesota Power for 21 years before retiring.
