Nick Skarich

SKARICH. Nick

Nick Skarich was born on December 10th 1916 in Kitzville, Minnesota

Mr. Skarich was inducted into the U.S. Army on July 12th 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

He served as a construction foreman with Headquarters of the 63rd Engineer Battalion in Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He rose to the rank of Corporal. (CPL).

He earned the following merits for his service:

  • Good Conduct Medal,
  • American Campaign Medal,
  • European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 bronze battle stars,  -and-
  • World War II Victory Medal.

 

He was honorably discharged on November 8th 1945, at Fort Still, Oklahoma.
