He received the: Combat Infantryman Badge, Distinguished Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars and American Defense Service Medal.
He was honorably discharged on October 9, 1945 at Camp Shelby, Miss.
