Nestor Alfred Newman

Nestor Alfred Newman was born in Duluth, Minnesota on February 9, 1908. He was inducted into the army on June 11, 1942 at Fort Snelling.
He attended basic training at Fort Leonard Wood then went to Camp Claiborne as part of the 1085th Engineer Utilities Attachment, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He traveled through the South Pacific and also served in Egypt, Tunisia, and the Middle East.
He was discharged in 1945.
Nestor eventually became the City Plumbing Inspector for the City of Duluth from which he retired in 1973.
