Morgan J. Blankush

Mr. Blankush entered the Army on February 1, 1944, at Fort Snelling, Minnesota. Home at entry: Duluth, Minnesota.

He served as a Technician Fifth Grade and infantryman with the 713rd Airborne Ordnance Company in Rhineland and Central Europe. The ability to speak, read, and write French was a valuable asset for the U.S. military in France. Served as an interpreter between the U.S. and the French resistance forces from January through November 1945.

He was awarded the following: Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Carbine-Expert, Glider Badge and one overseas service bar.

Mr. Blankush was honorably discharged on November 9, 1945, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
