Michael E. Rukavina

Michael E. Rukavina of Virginia, Minnesota was inducted into the Army on Jan. 21, 1942.

He was a Private Firstst Class and radio operator with the Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 423rd Infantry Regiment in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe.

Mr. Rukavina received the: Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Citation, European-African-Middle East Campaign Service Medal with 5 bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and 4 Overseas Service Bars.

He was discharged on Oct. 9, 1945.
