Mayme Rose [Chernivetz] Glavan was born on March 27th 1915 to Matt & Rose Glavan in Ely, Minnesota.
Ms. Chernivetz enlisted in the U.S. Army on August 14th 1943. She served during WWII in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps (WAACs) and rose to the rank of Sergeant (SGT).
SGT Chernivetz was honorably discharged on November 1st 1945. After the war she returned home and married fellow Veteran John Louis Glavan, who served in the U.S. Army as a Tech Sergeant (TSGT).
Ms. Glavan died on October 25th 2002 in St. Louis Park Minnesota. Like her husband, she is buried at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
