Matt A. Gerzina of Biwabik, Minnesota, was inducted into the Army Air Corps on November 23, 1942.

He served as a Private First Class and auto mechanic with the 219th Anti-Aircraft Gun Battalion in the continental United States.

Mr. Gerzina was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.

He was honorably discharged on Feb. 28, 1946 at Camp Ulysses S. Grant, Ill.
