Mathew Sucich entered the Army Air Corps on February 25, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.
He served as a Staff Sergeant and armorer-aerial gunner in Rome-Arno, North Apennines and Po Valley, Italy; Air Combat Balkans, Northern France, Southern France, and Rhineland.
Mr. Sucich was awarded the following: Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with seven bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, and overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on August 9, 1945. During his second enlistment, he was killed in the service in Korea on September 16, 1950.
