Mr. Tamminen was awarded the following: Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, four overseas service bars, and Philippine Liberation Medal with bronze star.
He was honorably discharged January 22, 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
