Martin L. Tamminen

Martin L. Tamminen entered the Army June 2, 1943, Fort Snelling, Minn. Home at entry: Hibbing, Minnesota.

He served as a Technician Fifth Grade and truck driver with Battery B of the 237th Antiaircraft Artillery SL Battalion in New Guinea and Southern Philippines.

Mr. Tamminen was awarded the following:  Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with two bronze battle stars, World War II Victory Medal, four overseas service bars, and Philippine Liberation Medal with bronze star.

He was honorably discharged January 22, 1946, at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.
