He received the: Meritorious Service Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with four bronze battle stars and bronze arrowhead, Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars, World War II Victory Medal and five overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on November 1, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
