TIBBETTS, Mark Hopkins
Mark Hopkins Tibbetts was born on September 18th 1889 to Dallas David & Ellen Sophronia [Brown] Tibbetts in Ogden, Iowa. Mark and his family took up residence in Duluth, Minnesota by 1930.
Dr. Tibbetts joined the Naval Reserve on January 4th 1942. He served as a Commander during WWII aboard the aboard the hospital ship USS Rescue (AH-18); ); a hospital ship based in the Pacific Theater.
CMDR Tibbetts was honorably discharged on December 20th 1945 and returned home to his wife Mary Plaunt [McGonagle] and family.
Dr. Tibbetts died on January 27th 1951 at 61 years of age in Chicago, Illinois. He is buried at Forest Hill Cemetery in Duluth, Minnesota.
