Lyle M. Doane of Virginia, Minn. was inducted into the Army on March 10, 1942 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He served as a Sergeant and light truck driver with Company D of the 746th Tank Battalion in Tunisia, North Africa; Naples-Foggia, Italy; Normandy, Northern France; Rhineland; Ardennes and Central Europe.
Mr. Doane was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle East Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal and five overseas service bars.
He was honorably discharged on Sept. 23, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
