JANESICH, Ludwig Joseph
Ludwig Joseph Janesich was born on April 19th 1908 to Anton Joseph & Cecilia [Ule] Janesich in Gladstone, Michigan. The family moved to Chisholm, Minnesota.
Mr. Janesich was inducted into the U.S. Army July 22nd 1942 at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Home at entry: Chisholm, Minnesota.
He served as a cook with the Military Police Detachment of the 1832nd Service Command Unit during WWII. He rose to the rank of Sergeant (SGT).
SGT Janesich was awarded the Good Conduct Medal. His younger brother Frank Janesich also served. He was a pilot with the US Army Air Forces and is listed as Missing In Action (MIA) and presumed dead during WWII.
He was honorably discharged October 1st 1945, Camp Fannin, Texas.
Mr. Janesich died on February 9th 1962 at 53 years of age. He is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Chisholm.
