Ludwig J. Jakel of Gilbert, Minnesota was inducted into the Army Air Corps on July 24, 1943 at Fort Snelling, Minn.
He was a Corporal and an airplane electrical mechanic instructor with the 3701st Army Air Field Base Unit in the continental United States.
Mr. Jakel received the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
He was honorably discharged on March 14, 1946 at Camp McCoy, Wis.
